PURPOSE OF POSITION

This Junior Application Developer position, as a member of the IS Application Development team, is responsible for the support, development and implementation of software solutions to meet business requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       DESIGN AND DEVELOP SOFTWARE

• Deliver solutions using appropriate development practices and standards
• Software installation and implementation
• Maintain database best practices and techniques

2.       PERFORM PRODUCTION APPLICATION SUPPORT

• Investigate and analyze problems
• Determine problem and resolution
• Implement solutions
• Maintain problem/resolution information

3.       PROVIDE CUSTOMER SUPPORT

• Develop ad hoc reports
• Answer questions
• Assist in training as part of system implementation

BACKGROUND AND SKILL

• Post secondary education in Computer Science / Computer Programming / Programming Analyst
• Experience with Visual Studio development environment and source control
• Strong skills in programming, database languages, and database principles.
• Microsoft .NET and HTML knowledge required.
• SQL Server experience with an emphasis on stored procedures.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and VBA
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Servers and Internet tools and technologies is preferred.
