Please join us for a morning workshop hosted by Jeff Van Heumen and Elizabeth Pringle, Senior Managers of Scientific Research & Experimental Development of Ernst &Young. Jeff Van Heumen
Jeff Van Heumen is a senior manager within Ernst and Young’s Scientific Research & Experimental Develop tax credit team. He is a Ph.D Polymer Chemist with over 20 years of industrial research experience working in the automotive and chemical manufacturing sectors in various R&D functions. Jeff has extensive research experience in plastics (thermoset and thermoplastic), chemical processing , and automotive component manufacturing. Jeff’s work experience prior to working for Ernst & Young included roles as the R&D Manager for an EPDM weatherseal manufacturer; Senior Scientist for an automotive seating component supplier; and R&D Chemist for a coating and sealant manufacturer.
Elizabeth Pringle
Elizabeth is a Associate Partner with over 20 years of experience in both the private and public sectors, including 12 years working with senior executives in the federal government’s Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credit program. As Ernst & Young’s National Science Knowledge Leader, Elizabeth works with a team of technical and accounting professionals in SR&ED. Responsibilities include team learning, quality review of technical submissions for claims and CRA liaison. Elizabeth is recognized as a positive, goal oriented leader who drives results and provides exceptional client service. She has a proven ability to develop and sustain strong government/industry relationships and possesses excellent communication and management skills.
Keith MacDougall
As a Senior Manager in the National Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credit practice, Keith leads a specialized team of professionals dedicated to claiming SR&ED and OIDMTC tax credits for information technology and software development projects. Keith works with clients in the financial industry sector, telecommunications, software development, energy distribution, and media & entertainment industry. Keith has 10 years of experience as a SR&ED tax practitioner, including 7 years in managerial roles. During this time, Keith’s track record both personally and as part of national servicing teams is notable: always achieving more than 90% recovery after Canada Revenue Agency claim review. This success rate includes a number of projects larger than $25 million in expenditures. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Keith acted as an Information Systems consultant for financial institutions and a variety of start-up companies.
